D2 Paving & Site Work is a full site development, asphalt paving, drainage and land clearing contractor serving all of Central Florida and the East Coast of Florida. From land clearing to complete site development and road building, D2 Paving & Site Work has the expertise to deliver a quality project, within budget and on time with minimal disruption for your tenants or customers. Since 2005, D2’s personnel and equipment have been on the move, grading, paving, loading, and excavating their way through East Central Florida. Whether you are a commercial or residential developer, retailer, industrial park, apartment community, municipality or home owners association, D2 Paving & Site Work is building the foundation for Florida Real Estate.


Our Team

Brian Henry: General Manager/Owner – In 2005, Brian founded D2 Paving & Site Work and has been working for over 10 years to provide professional service in the construction industry. As a native Floridian, Brian holds a special appreciation for the land that he works on. Today, he oversees the day-to-day operations in support of D2’s long term and strategic goals. Brian has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of construction management. Over the years, he has been involved in every key aspect of the building industry. These aspects include, but are not limited to, Estimator, Preconstruction Manager, Superintendent and Project Manager. As the company begins to expand, Brian has incorporated his experience to take on larger and more out-of-the-box projects. Brian holds a degree in Business Management from the University of Utah and  holds an active Certified Building Contractors License No. CBC1250176 for the State of Florida.

James W. Kern: Owner– James Kern is the CEO of The Kern Company in South Florida which he took over in 1996 and has over 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate business specializing in commercial investment and land entitlement.  Since 1997, he has partnered with various investors to acquire 50+ properties for a total of over $150 million. In addition, Jim remains active in the brokerage business, where his focus has been on development properties. Jim bought into D2 Paving & Site work in 2010 and has been working alongside founder, Brian Henry. The goal of the acquisition was to vertically integrate his land entitlement business and be able to provide the horizontal construction that is needed to further develop a piece of property. This combination gives the Kern Company and D2 Paving & Sitework more avenues for profits and diversity. Jim also holds an active Florida Real Estate Broker license and graduated from The Florida State University with honors.

Beth Benet: Senior Estimator and Project Manager- Beth Benet has over 6 years of experience in the estimating field. She joined D2 in July of 2019 and has taken on two of our largest projects to date as a project manager and estimator. No matter what is thrown her way, Beth deals with it head on and is more than a smiling face at the D2 office.

Frank Jones: Paving Manager– Frank Jones has been with D2 for 4 years and has been in the paving and site industry for over 40 years. Frank’s experience with hundreds of paving projects makes him an integral part in the paving side of D2. His relationship with the paving crew has also earned him a large amount of respect and he has curated a team of men who respect one another and their work.

Jeff Davis: General Superintendent- Jeff has worked with D2 for 5 years and has over 35 years of experience in the field. As general superintendent, Jeff and our estimators work to ensure our projects run smoothly. Jeff is a dedicated worker who’s can-do attitude is invaluable on our team. Jeff goes above and beyond to ensure that work is done and done well.

Cliff Rispoli: Comptroller- Cliff has been with D2 for 6 years managing all aspects of finance. He has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years and holds several training certificates: OSHA Certification, Time Mgt. Certification, Sexual Harassment Certification, etc. Cliff’s tenacity keeps functions at D2 running smoothly and his accounting experience is extremely valuable.

George “Tinker” Royce: Estimator – George “Tinker” Royce is a seasoned project manager who has worked in the construction industry since 1970. Over the years, he has worked with DOT, and with the FAA on airport construction. Tinker has managed hundreds of projects, from initiation to closing. Tinker’s reputation for bottom-line orientation and high quality and on-time delivery in challenging situations has made him a strong leader who inspires confidence and trust in others. This has been shown to motivate project staff to perform at high levels and to consistently meet project expectations. He is an excellent problem solver with strategic and tactical skills.

Michelle Ferris: Office Manager and Employee Relations- Michelle has worked with D2 for over 5 years and maintains office functions on a daily basis. She keeps track of the ins and outs of all employees and projects making sure that all invoices are paid and everyone is on the right track.  Michelle’s organization keeps office functions running consistently and smoothly.

Sarah Kern: Assistant Project Manager- Sarah Kern is the newest addition to the D2 team. Graduating from Florida State University in May of 2019 and joining D2 in August, Sarah has begun learning the industry and project management in a hands-on way. Sarah interned for D2 several years ago and interned in several other project management capacities throughout her college career.
